Hey there, I’m Jess and welcome to my world! If you’ve already checked out the About Me section on the JC Rosewood website, you’ll know that I love rainy days, podcasts, and spicy tacos. I also have four amazing guys in my life, one big, one little, and two with paws. So what else? I firmly believe that personality should be included into any decision to invest in a wedding vendor. C’mon, best day of your life – you want to be side by side with someone who gets you and your fiancé’s vibe and can work together effectively. So I found this list of 10 questions to give a little more insight on me and my vibes.
“SO, GRAB A BEVERAGE AND KEEP SCROLLING FOR SOME Q&A ABOUT ME”
1. IF YOU COULD LIVE ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE AND WHY?
I traveled A LOT in my 20’s. I’ve lived in Hawaii & Alaska, and stayed for lengthy times in Europe, Costa Rica, and different cities in the US. My real answer to this is I am EXACTLY where I am supposed to be. I dabbled in moving to Las Vegas, Tampa, and Tijuana (for the tacos of course). Ultimately, my family became the most important thing to me and they were right here in Georgia. My parents live 10 minutes from us and we do frequent family dinners with the whole gang. So, right here is where I would live. In my little town with plenty of space to grow 🙂 But, we do hope to live one or two months in other cities/countries every year. That is a top 5 dream and we are getting there!
2.WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT?
14 hours of labor… ha! No but really, I think other than my son of course, and the life I have managed to create for myself, my proudest achievement is working hard and making the leap into entrepreneurship. I spent hours upon hours reading, listening to podcasts, watching TikTok videos (wait, what?) to learn and build the confidence to make this switch. Paving the way for me and my family to enjoy success and have more freedom is a huge accomplishment. There will be more things along the way but dangit! This phase was hard and I’m giving myself a pat on the back.
3. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PODCAST TO LISTEN TO?
My love of podcasts started with My Favorite Murder hosted by Karen Kilgariff and Georgia Hardstark. Yes, I am a True Crime Junkie and they made my hour commute to the office so much more bearable.
For business resources, The Goaldigger Podcast hosted by Jenna Kutcher is my fave. I’ve listened to a couple of others but her personality matches mine and my vision. She’s also really positive, knowledgeable, and authentic which I value.
4. IF YOU COULD ONLY EAT ONE MEAL FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
My husband and I love to get tacos at this supermercado in our town – Los Gomez because they are they best I’ve had since Mexico. Bring those home with some margaritas – that’s my jam. At our wedding, my brother actually did the cooking and made tacos for our dinner. We had margaritas on tap and a whole lot of yummy toppings. I definitely enjoy a nice night out with wine and steaks but there’s nothing like a taco – margarita pair.
5. HOW DO YOU LIKE YOUR COFFEE?
Black or with a little bit of heavy cream preferably iced. Nothing fancy.
6. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOUR CAREER?
The wedding day! I used to be somewhat of an explorer and I love the adrenaline of a new challenge. A wedding day is just that – anticipating, problem solving, and creating perfection. But my favorite part of the day is right before my bride walks down the aisle. So much anticipation, nervousness, and pure joy is in that moment and you can always feel it radiate. It’s a rush. Once she (or he) is down the aisle, the hardest parts are behind us and on to the fun!
7. WHAT MADE YOU SAY “YES” TO YOUR HUSBAND?
That’s a loaded one but ultimately – he brought the fun back into my life. I went through a very dark period prior to meeting him and he ushered in a new season. He’s very fun, spontaneous, and caring. Also, look at him! Hot is an understatement ;). He’s my perfect compliment and I am looking forward to everything life will bring us in the future.
8. DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING THAT FRUSTRATES YOU?
Don’t we all? I think the biggest thing in my career that is frustrating is watching a couple cave on what’s important to them because of outside pressure. My job is to fight for my clients and give them the day they dream about. So, that’s what I do.
Also, clutter in my personal space. Hate it.
9. FAVORITE MOVIE?
P.S. I Love You (2007) –
Starring Hillary Swank and Gerard Butler.
10. FAVORITE HOBBY
Is shopping a hobby?
Ok, I’ll just go with kayaking 🙂
If you are a prospective client, I am sure we will get to know each other well over our time together.
I love connecting and hearing about your stories. Send me some info and we can plan a coffee or margarita date to discuss further details!
